Synaxia was a great company name if you wanted to appeal to engineers, but the company was now ready to talk to the rest of the world. It needed a standout name to accompany the roll out of its new offerings—a data storage device that retrieves data 5-10 times faster than the competition and specialized servers that can handle 100 times as many simultaneous connections and manage 200 TB of data (30 times the capacity of any rival). We focused on names that highlight the leap in performance the company’s unified network storage systems enable. Blue suggests speed (think blue streak) and quality (blue ribbon), and arc refers to the bridge between users, data, and computers in the network as well as the speed of arcing electricity.
