This industry trade association for companies that develop and supply life science, analytical, and diagnostic products and services was using the rather awkward initialism ALSSA (Analytical & Life Science Systems Association) and asked us to help them find a more memorable (and easier to say) name. The acronym ALDA (Analytical, Life Science & Diagnostics Association) was just what the diagnostician ordered.
