We’re thrilled to unveil three standout additions to Catchword’s portfolio:
Versant – NBCUniversal’s new cable and digital spinoff
ALSO. – Rivian’s micromobility offshoot
Pippit – CapCut-powered content-creation platform for e-sellers
These names powerfully express the spirit and ambition behind each brand—and that’s exactly what we love to do.
Versant – Conversant. Versatile. Visionary.
To sharpen its strategic focus, NBCUniversal spun off a powerhouse collection of cable and digital properties—including USA, MSNBC, Syfy, Fandango, and Rotten Tomatoes—into a new company. The name needed to honor a storied legacy while projecting a fresh, forward-looking vision.
Coined from versatile and conversant, the name Versant captures deep media expertise and agile evolution. It’s sleek, confident, and ready for a dynamic future of storytelling. The brand launched in May with a major slate at NBC’s upfronts, and the full spinoff wraps in 2026.
ALSO. – Small Vehicles. Big Change.
Rivian’s stealth skunkworks team asked a huge question: how can we rethink urban transport for a crowded, warming world? The result: a spinoff focused on micromobility, led by top talent from Apple, Google, and Tesla.
Short, unexpected, and packed with meaning, the name ALSO. reflects a pivotal insight: the future of transportation isn’t just about big electric vehicles—we also need small, nimble, and sustainable ways to move. It’s a name that signals inclusivity and innovation: more modes, more flexibility, more possibility. Launched in March, ALSO. plans to debut its flagship product in early 2026 and expand rapidly across global consumer and commercial markets. It’s not just a new brand—it’s a new way forward for urban mobility.
Pippit – A Name That Soars.
CapCut’s e-commerce platform needed a fresh identity—one that stood apart from its video-editing roots and spoke directly to online sellers and creators. Enter Pippit.
Inspired by a nimble songbird and designed for global ease, the name is fun, energetic, and perfectly suited to the app’s vibrant audience. It even works as a verb: “I’ll Pippit and post tomorrow.” ByteDance’s April rebrand took flight with a stylized bird in the logo and flight-inspired tagline, “Create with wings.” The platform’s name, look, and feel now stand clearly apart from CapCut—purpose-built to serve the unique needs of modern e-commerce sellers and creators.
