thanks a lot for this article – you really got what we are trying to do
I am the CEO of Sabi and wanted to give credit also when credit is due – most of the branding and copy and a lot of the direction is also done with Vishwa Marwah and David Stern and their amazing team in Tattoo – I wish we could take all the credit to ourselves but they are an important factor in our story and all you mentioned

The word in Hebrew is actually Tzintuk[*] and NOT Tizntuk as written above.

It is a soldering of the words צלצול=>Tseel-tsool (ring) and ניתוק=>Nituk (disconection). In Hebrew it is written צנתוק.

[*] Though I would prefer to spell it “Tsintuk”, as I believe the Hebrew letter צ sounds more like Ts than Tz.

I agree, this campaign is brilliant! The commercial really made me laugh. I love it when the hero looks right in the camera and winks, and says, “Catchphrase.” Reminds me of the Diet Coke precursor TaB (good luck with those caps, fellas!), and how that got to be regarded as a “girl’s drink”. I think these alphanumeric names are trying really hard to avoid that – men use numbers for cars, computer stuff, firearms, they’re cool with that convention.

Stephani has developed quite a genius for squeezing a lot of press from this reported auto-correct change error. Mockery in show business may be the best flattery. If I were planning to change my name for a career in contemporary music I’d start with the multitude of name generators found online that deal only with Band, Hip Hop and Rap. Such as:
